About the Event

The true story of the man who refused to remain silent.

Bonhoeffer tells the extraordinary story of German pastor and theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer, whose unwavering faith gave him the courage to stand against Hitler and the Nazi regime when so many others chose silence. Confronting the growing evil long before much of his country was even willing to recognize it, Bonhoeffer challenged the German Church to be the conscience of the State and to defend the persecuted. His inspiring story is one of conviction, sacrifice, and the courage to stand for the truth, no matter the cost. More than 80 years later, his legacy remains a powerful reminder that faith is not simply what we believe, but what we are willing to do because of it.

Bonhoeffer returns to theaters for a special limited engagement featuring an exclusive new Socrates in the City conversation hosted by Eric Metaxas, bestselling author of the acclaimed biography Bonhoeffer. Joined by Dr. Ben Carson, Megan Basham, author of Shepherds for Sale, and Andrew Kolvet, spokesperson for Turning Point USA, Metaxas and his panel explores Bonhoeffer’s legacy, the difficult choices he faced, and why his life and ideas still resonate today.

See the film. Join the conversation. Consider the question.
